Leather Journal Workshop
Join us at the mill for a Leather Journal Workshop!
Kaspar Skinner brings his abundance of skill and knowledge in leatherworking to host this Leather Journal Workshop!
Learn how to make a leather journal cover from start to finish in a small, hands-on workshop focused on traditional leatherworking techniques.
This class takes place in the Wave Mill, where you’ll be guided through each step of the process — from cutting out the components from a hide of leather, through dyeing and stamping the leather, to gluing and stitching the journal together.
You’ll be working with your hands throughout, using well-established techniques to shape, assemble, and finish your piece.
No experience is necessary, and all tools and materials, including leather, thread, needles, dye, hardware, and a blank journal, are provided.
This is a small-group class with an emphasis on attention to detail and individual guidance. You’ll leave with a finished journal cover, a blank journal insert, and a clear understanding of the techniques used to make it.
