Weaving
Our 100% Ontario wool is woven from a variety of yarns spun at our mill, without the use of dyes or harsh chemicals. Sourced from sheep, Alpaca, and Mohair raised on small Ontario regenerative farms, each breed has its own distinct qualities. Depending on the intended use, we select the best breeds, colours, and combinations to achieve the desired result.
Our services include:
- Creating products for individual farms using their own fleece.
- Collaborating with designers to create fabric unique to their fashion lines.
- Designing and weaving fabrics for our Wave Fibre Mill product line.
- Retailing small quantities of our fabric by the yard.
Our Process:
Once we determine yarn composition, size, ply, and colour it is spun, wound on cones, and taken to our weaving and knitting department. Most of our blankets and fabrics are woven on two AVL Industrial Dobby Looms. We also use a variety of hand looms to create throws, shawls, scarves, coverlets, and select fabric.
Knitting
We use a combination of knitting machines to knit the yardage for our line of knitwear.
