Each breed offers its own unique qualities, and we carefully select the breed based on the characteristics needed for the end use. We have a wide range of blends and a full range of weights from bulky to lace. 

Free from artificial dyes and harmful chemicals, our yarn preserves its natural purity and softness. Using only soap and soda ash, we do not use toxins and irritants that are commonly found in textiles.

The colours of our yarn are primarily the naturally grown shades of the fleece. We also do small batch natural dyeing to compliment our collection. Each dye batch is unique and rarely repeatable. Each plant, each micro ecosystem, each season gives us subtle variations in colour.

Our naturally dyed yarns have already been wet finished: soaked in water with a touch of mild soap, rinsed, and hung to dry. This allows the yarn to relax, bloom, and fully plump.

Undyed yarn is coned or skeined without wet finishing. It will soften and “bloom” with the first washing.

Because we don’t use chemicals to burn off vegetation, you may find small “bits of the field” within the yarn, but these can be gently worked out with your fingers.
