July 2025 Newsletter

This has been an amazing, fun-filled month!

I did two presentations at the “World Fashion Summit”, which we will post on our website’s video page soon!

RunwayTO was an incredible experience!
Well run, great models, and an enthusiastic, positive response from the audience. Several good connections have been made – It looks like more adventures will follow!

We are now gearing up for our WOW Gala on July 11th and 3rd Anniversary Festival on July 12th.
Cardy – our 100 year old carder – is looking forward to a birthday hat and cake! Come and celebrate with her at our festival! We have almost doubled the vendors this year!

Try your hand at spinning or weaving, make wool trinkets at the family crafts table, enjoy the orchestra in the morning, and stop for lunch at the airport cafe! You can also enter our draw to win a hand-knit lap blanket made from pure, local sheep’s wool.

We have also just been accepted into the Northern Ontario Pavillion at the Royal Winter Fair! Never a dull moment!

New wool designs are on the rack.
Pure wool and linen duvets are ready and we are madly sewing our line of linen summerwear.

Do drop by!
Wave

100 has never looked better! Cardy is ready to party! Come and join her on Saturday, July 12th!

Wave Fibre Mill at Runway TO 2025

Here’s a look at our time spent at RunwayTO!
New designs – as well as some of our timeless favourites – took over the runway and brought a beautiful piece of Northern Ontario to the bustling city of Toronto!
Our models were all smiles as they walked the runway in cozy socks, beautiful linen, and lush wool!

Maker’s Guild

Join the Maker’s Guild as we celebrate The Mill’s 3rd Anniversary on Saturday, July 12.

We’ll be hosting an interactive booth as part of the day’s events, where you can learn more about what we do and try your hand at a few small projects—like loom weaving, felted mice, or raffia crafts.

Guild members will be available to share their work, answer questions, and talk about upcoming activities. Whether you’re a seasoned maker or just curious, it’s a great opportunity to connect with your crafty community.

We’ll also have some homemade baked goods to share—so please stop by and say hello!

Ready to join the guild? New members are always welcome. We have weekly Sunday drop-in makers sessions and one event, workshop or presentation each month.

A yearly membership is $40 which includes a 10% discount on makers’ supplies at the Wave Mill retail store. Please contact wfmguild@gmail.com to enquire.
