September 2022

We have had countless visitors since our grand opening, some returning, who have brought friends and family to tour our mill a second time around and also do some shopping in our new retail store. We have seen new visitors who have travelled from across Ontario, to come take a look at our facilities and products.

We are working with several new farmers to process their fleece as well as a Toronto designer using our wool rope to secure coat toggles. Our sewing machines have been in action upstairs creating the fan favourites in our clothing line, the Wave Fibre Mill anorak, overalls and linen vest are very popular.

Visit our website https://wavefibremill.com/store/ for new product launches. We currently are working on several prototypes, which are in the store for  those wanting a sneak peak. Hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (same as the mill) and weekends by chance or appointment. We will be announcing times for the weekend once we have onboarded our retail associate in the upcoming weeks. There is still time to apply for the position. Send an email to wavefibremill@gmail.com, Attn: Wave.

We are now in a position to accept farms wanting to process their fleece. Working initially with sheep, we expect to include alpaca in the new year. Due to the size of the mill equipment minimum processing amounts are 50lbs. Click the button below for details.

Wave had the privilege of meeting the Lieutenant Governor, Her Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, during the Platinum Jubilee Tour. The Lt. Governor visited Seguin Township for the Seguin Summer Splash, where Wave presented her with a one-of-a-kind, Wave Fibre Mill 100% local Ontario wool scarf. The fibre which we spun for the scarf came from our local McKellar and Powassan sheep farms.

You can read more about the visit here.

For the past 16 weeks we have had Brittany, a creative and resourceful Equipment Operator with us. Brittany came to us with experience and passion for our industry, in her beautiful knit sweaters. She brought vast dyeing knowledge to our mill and has done several live demonstrations during her time here.

She was present for our soft launch and grand opening. September 2nd will be her last day with us at the mill. She plans on coming back to host some workshops in 2023!

Brittany, will be missed greatly but is moving onto more fibre adventures!
